Baba Yaga

Mighty Baba Yaga,
Goddess of rebirth and transmutation,
You who crush and devour the child Ego,
You are worthy of veneration and awe.

Ancient Baba Yaga,
Bone Crone, Wild Woman, Dark Mother,
You who guard the Otherworld, and the fountains of the waters of Death and Life,
Protect my inner realm, and bless the fountain of the waters of my soul this day.

Fearsome Baba Yaga,
Mistress of the Forest, Witch in the Wood,
You who are wizened like the waning moon, riding in your mortar across the night sky,
Teach and grant me the ways of your wisdom, that I too may fly without fear.

Cunning Baba Yaga,
Sweeper of Trails, Concealer of Paths, Eraser of Ways,
You who eat your own children, only to nurture them back from the dead,
Drag me down on a journey towards the spinning depths of your Underworld, feed on the femur of my unknowing as I suckle on the aged teat of your mystery, forever.

Mythic Baba Yaga,
Brewer of new life, Transformatrix of all abundance,
You who devour the naive, the unwitting and those who think they know,
Awake me, challenge me, move me, dare me, darken me, put me to sleep, enlighten me, be with me; know that you are welcome with me always.

Savage Baba Yaga,
Ruler over the Elements,
Prepare me for your nature and for my use that I may be called a friend of your bosom; With your merciless pestle mince away my fears, grind away my ignorance and destroy that in me which is already dead.

Tameless Baba Yaga,
Healer, Helper, Keeper of your word,
You who are all-knowing, all-seeing and all-revealing,
Keep me aware of the magick and the majesty, the joys and the wonders of this life.

Boundless Baba Yaga,
Arch-Patroness of my Soul,
You who give life, and who also take it away,
Strengthen my spirit, guide my footfalls and walk with me in my dreams.

Brightly-spun blessings,
Lady Faemore
